Akan Brewing Co. is a brewery in Hyderabad with a Meso-American/Mayan theme. The project involved creating a custom system of symbols inspired by actual hieroglyphics — a challenging process that required extensive research into how the Mayans used symbols to form words and sentences. The final set of hieroglyphs was designed to merge seamlessly, carrying the brand’s meaning: being in the presence of, or indulging under, Akan.
