OverProtection explores tsundoku, the Japanese term for buying books and letting them pile up unread, often in an effort not to ‘spoil’ them. It questions the impulse to protect objects we never use, asking: Did I spoil it while trying to protect it? The book’s text plays with this tension, blurring the line between preservation and damage, beauty and neglect.
